Your first consultation is at a fixed fee. Each lawyer will set their own fee for the first consultation which is clearly displayed at the time of booking. As a guide, the standard fee starts from $330 depending on the lawyer's experience.
During the first consultation, you will receive initial legal advice. If your issue is resolved, no further steps are required. If ongoing work is needed, your lawyer will provide a clear, no-obligation fee estimate for further representation.
You have complete flexibility to consult multiple lawyers through the platform before choosing who to proceed with. Every lawyer is pre-screened with at least 3 years of experience in their practice area. They are fully insured and registered in their State of Territory.

How do cancellations work? Cancellations made more than 1 hour before the appointment time are eligible for a full refund. To cancel, please send an email to our friendly team at hello@advisent.com.au.
If you cancel within 1 hour of your appointment or do not attend, the fee is non-refundable. This is because the lawyer has reserved that time for you and may have already undertaken preparation. They may also be unable to offer the time to another client at short notice.
That said, we encourage you to contact the lawyer through your Advisent inbox, as they may be willing to offer an alternative day and time at their discretion. While this is not guaranteed, many lawyers are open to rescheduling where reasonable notice is given and the circumstances allow.
Appointments that proceed as scheduled are non-refundable, unless the lawyer determines at the start of the consultation that the matter is outside their scope or they are otherwise unable to provide legal advice.
Are the lawyers fully qualified? Yes. All lawyers on Advisent are admitted to practice in Australia, hold current practising certificates, maintain professional indemnity insurance, and have a minimum of three years' post-admission experience.
What if my consultation ends early? The fee covers the first appointment, which typically runs for 1 hour but may be longer or shorter depending on the nature of the matter.
Can I leave a review? Yes. After your consultation, you may leave a review based on your experience. Your feedback helps others choose the right lawyer.
